'Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths'
So after trying so hard to cope with work and life I was finally able to watch the very latest film of the renowned Mexican filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu 'Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths'. Yes, it is an awfully long name for a film. Anyway, it took me long enough to complete the film since this film takes a lot of patience and energy.
The story of film revolves around a Mexican journalist who has some biased opinions about Mexican - American war and is very much in love with his motherland. He is known for his documentaries and is about to receive an award for exceptional work by Americans, it is as ironic as it sounds. While Silverio Gacho played by Daniel Giménez Cacho struggles to cope with the loss of his baby through some visually insane surreal imageries alongside struggling to make stronger connections with his family.
Bardo, which in Buddhist culture means in-between really justifies with the story, as we see Silverio Gacho jumps from fiction to reality quite often.
Although the movie is a visual masterpiece and the symbolic representation of the characters is just insanely brilliant, it does take a lot of patience to watch this film through. But in the end, it is definitely worth watching. At least for those who are a fan of Alejandro González Iñárritu just like me.
To me, it'd be a 4/5 for this film.
