Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham (2023)

I know, I know I've been late. But trust me, it was because I was watching this movie over and over again.

Those who know me know that I to some extent am a toxic Batman fan. Therefore it is pretty hard to please me. But this film made me feel enthusiastic and hyped up big time.

We all know how messed up the interconnected DC universe is, but the standalone and else-world universe of DC is nothing short of a diamond mine. The animated universe of New 52 and now Tomorrowverse, The Batman universe of Matt Reeves, the Joker universe of Todd Phillips not to mention the stand-alone animated films like Gotham by Gaslight, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, Justice League: Doom, and many more.

Apart from that Batman has always been the OG ground-level hero. For over 80 years he's been that way, with a glorious Rogue gallery in his name. But Batman Doom that came to Gotham is something never seen before.

At first, this film feels kind of odd and detached but as the story grows, this else world story really grows into you. I loved the Lovecraft vibes in this film and most importantly the very different interpretations of every single character from the Batman Comics. There's Dick Grayson, Jayson Todd as Sanjay Tawde, Cassandra Cain as Kai Li Cain, Oliver Queen, Harvey Dent, and many more. Although I would have loved seeing Bats and Arrow teaming up to fight the greater evil, but the story arc was well executed.

As I said before this is an alternate reality where everything is different from the basic comic manner, characters, their intentions, their origin, and everything. And most importantly the Batman. He is different, he is desperate, he is stubborn, and he is Batman ( literally).

So, if you like magical stuff and monsters this film is for you. Even though we have seen Justice league dark but this one is exceptional. Inspired by the Graphic novel of the same name by Mike Mignola and Richard Pace. Batman The Doom That Came To Gotham is one hell of a ride. Just to let you know, do not expect that very essential ground-level action or crime-solving tactics from this Batman movie.

It is an easy 4.5/5 for me.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods Life is very beautiful yet complicated. We all do some deeds, sometimes we are very much satisfied with what we do and sometimes there are regrets what's left. Om-Dar-B-Dar 1988 Film Review A film had to be as brilliant as Om Dar-B-Dar to bring me back from the melancholy and abyss to reviewing films again. And oh boy, what work it did.
