An educated transgender woman goes on a killing spree in the fullest carnage mode after a politician kills her whole family brutally. That's what I thought I'd be witnessing in the film Haddi.
Sadly that wasn't the case. As much as I liked the trailer, the film was a total disappointment for me. Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a brutal bloodthirsty transgender woman seeking her revenge was good enough to hook me in.
But the making made a total letdown. The non-linear storyline was confusing and incomplete. Lead's performances were good enough but some sides were huge misfits. Although I liked the chemistry between Nawaz and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, but felt like they could have been better. Anurag Kashyap as a cold and goofy politician was convincing enough.
And after everything what really disappointed me that the fact that the greatness this film could have achieved with a little bit more mature making. They try to hide the necessary violent shots with very poor camera angles and filters. After all the time I was hoping that finally the big showdown would happen, all the blood and violence I'll be witnessing, the rage, the carnage, and the beast mode of Nawaz. It never came. Irritatingly the climax was the biggest disappointment in the whole film.
There are good moments in the film, but they are so few.
Hence I'd say, this isn't even a good one-time watch.
And I'd rate this film a 2/5
What a waste of time.
